A very uplifting book, full of laughter. The author understands the Cornish people and tourists very well and has brilliant characters in the book. It's a book you cannot put down and is fun to read; will suit all ages. The village portrayed in the book seems to be an amalgamation of many Cornish fishing villages, especially Port Isaac/5(96). Not for everyone, this book rambles and doubles back on itself, but it is a lovely experience for a pie lover. Now I need to get my hands in the dough! Two people have asked to borrow the book from me and I am feeling reluctant to part with the book. I wrote my name in the cover. These two things have made me change my rating from 4 stars to 5 /5.
